March 21, 2020: With the most recent announcement from Tarrant County regarding the COVID-19 virus, which went into effect at 6:00pm this evening, all churches and religious places of worship are now prohibited to perform in-person services. The Board of Trustees of KIC, in consultation with our Imam, has therefore decided to close down our Masjid indefinitely, in compliance with the rulings, until further notice. May Allah SWT in His infinite wisdom and mercy, accept our Istighfaar, and permit us to return to the Masjid in the very near future so that we may continue to perform our sujood in congregation, inshaAllah.

Monday, February 3, 2020: AlhamduLillah, by the mercy of Allah, SWT, the KIC Community was blessed with the presence of Shaykh Yaser Birjas for our first Family Night of the Year on Friday, January 31. The Shaykh’s message was well received and provided scholarly background from the Quran and Sunnah on the various aspects of our family and home lives. The two most note-worthy Ayahs from the Quran pointed out by the Shaykh:
“And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith – We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained.” Surah At-Tur, Ayah 21 (52:21)
“O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded.” Surah At-Tahrim, Ayah 6 (66:6)
On Family Life and Leadership, the Shaykh noted the following Hadith:
Abdullah ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, SAW, said: “Every one of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The leader of people is a guardian and is responsible for his subjects. A man is the guardian of his family, and he is responsible for them. A woman is the guardian of her husband’s home and his children, and she is responsible for them. The servant of a man is the guardian of the property of his master and he is responsible for it. No doubt, every one of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock.” Sahih Al Bukhari 6719, Sahih Muslim 1829
The TEN PRINCIPLES OF A HAPPY FAMILY include the following characteristics: 1) They have a togetherness experience, 2) they communicate, 3) they always learn, 4) they’re grateful, 5) they exercise patience, 6) they forgive, 7) they think win-win, 8) they are hospitable, 9) they have love, 10) they have mercy
